Kiwipolitico knobbles Brash
Cash Rules Everything Around Me
C.R.E.A.M, get the money
Dollar dollar bill y’all
– Wu-Tang Clan
Lew @Kiwipolitico has written the definitive article about Brash, Act and the moneyed world view that drives their ambition. It's a must-read.
The image, taken from Lew's blog, shows Brash trying to gain mana by big-noting at the expense of Apirana Ngata and Maori in general.
I didn't see the programme, but there's a link to the interview and I've got some time today in-between sawing and writing, so I'll definitely watch.

Weekend fun - the Act meltdown
"Prime Minister John Key was also the target of Ansell's venom in the article.
He labelled Key the "most lilly-livered Prime Minister" and an "idiot"."
This is fantastic stuff from Brash and his team. John Ansell has always been the darling of the gritty, shitty-livered Act team but today they gave him his marching orders for drawing back the yellow curtain a little too far.
Tonight's news-at-six will be a highlight for those who enjoy political humour and the sight of a nest of racists being whacked by journalists.
Ansell, Brash, Garrett, Odgers and Calvert (are there others) have burned themselves to a crisp here and that would smell sweet, were the pong of flaming racism not so pungent to the nostrils of ordinary folk like me.

In the Kacktus
Blogger Cactus Kate's entry into politics as an ACT Party candidate has provoked some very interesting questions around those of us who have a blogging history.
It has been made clear by many of Cathy Ogers' (Cactus Kate) peers, that posts and comments she's made over the years will torpedo her credibility and will be used to ridicule her efforts to gain popular support. Many of her claims and statements have been odious in my view.
I'll be watching very closely to see how she fares. Her supporters are big-noting her as a gun-slinger who will clean up 'the socialists' in a hail of ideological bullets , fired from the lip but I think she'll be burned at the stake by the popular media.
I expect that we'll soon see Kate neck-deep in the cactus.

Got the Collie-wobbles!
"ENVIRONMENT Southland chairman Stuart Collie yesterday admitted he was a member of both Act and the National Party but was adamant he could remain impartial in his council role."
The irrepressible Paddy Lewis on 'Credo Quia Absurdum Est' busts Stuart Collie wide open with this tidy piece of investigative blogarism, revealing that Collie is a Rodney Hide man and can't keep his bias to himself, according to some of his fellow councillors.
" According to the Act Party website yesterday (26 February 2005), Mr Collie is the party’s Invercargill and Clutha-Southland electorate contact."
It's all water under the bridge, you'd hope, but it does make Mr Collie's recent comments regarding impartiality ring a little hollow.
I couldn't help feeling that Mr Collie's letter to the editor had a whiff of hypocrisy about it.
Tonight's Cue TV candidates panel coverage might further the sorry tale even more, who knows!
