"Prime Minister John Key was also the target of Ansell's venom in the article.
He labelled Key the "most lilly-livered Prime Minister" and an "idiot"."
This is fantastic stuff from Brash and his team. John Ansell has always been the darling of the gritty, shitty-livered Act team but today they gave him his marching orders for drawing back the yellow curtain a little too far.
Tonight's news-at-six will be a highlight for those who enjoy political humour and the sight of a nest of racists being whacked by journalists.
Ansell, Brash, Garrett, Odgers and Calvert (are there others) have burned themselves to a crisp here and that would smell sweet, were the pong of flaming racism not so pungent to the nostrils of ordinary folk like me.

Roll on 6 o clock!
Robert, John is currently commenting on Kiwi blog, I put in a word for ya :)
What a shameless racist prick that guy is.
Hope Don brushes his hair before he goes on camera Jacquline. And doesn't try to defend the indefensible - That didn't go so well for Alasdair.
Thanks Shunda - I didn't deputize you for nothing then!
Hope you passed on my best wishes to John. He and I crossed pens very early in the piece, on his blog, where we both enjoyed flinging words about but I soon discovered that he adores Roger Douglas and doesn't respond well to any Jurassic quips someone might offer. I'll pop over to the Skewer for a look.
Again, somebody may end up in the poo for actually speaking a great deal of truth.
Sad to say that appears to be politics---and life.
Don's wife from Singapore is probably spitting in her hand, and tidying up his tresses as we type.
As for Alasdair - I will reply to that next month. ;)
TF - may!
I'd say he's DonKey deep already!
Again, somebody may end up in the poo for actually speaking a great deal of truth.
Appealing to residual racists is hardly appealing to the truth.
Your profession is not un-noticed.
All those niggers and "lily livered whities" in the way of making money!
iduno!! what is this country coming to!!
Jacqualine - ha! I think it's tress and I'm not sure that's where she'll be spitting.
A month is a long time btw - Alasdair barely lasted a fortnight :-)
Ansell held on for two days - the next faller-from-grace might come and go in a matter of minutes at this rate!
It's coming to a head Shunda so be ready to stand up and be counted!
Is this really important?
Act is a 2 horse party which will not be remembered by history. A party soooo last century, from the age of greed and selfishness. If we don't pay them any attention, they will disappear into the margin of error.
Boring, boring.
Important Jonesy?
Not in itself - such stupidity shouldn't get any oxygen at all, except that Act are National's primo coalition partner-of-choice. With Act extinguished, Key is in a very poor position for the coming election. Who will he have beside his party? The Maori Party? They're facing their own demise or at least, diminishment, due to Hone and Mana. I can't see them providing any comfort to National, in fact, I believe Hone will extract a promise from them not to go with Key. So what will National do?
For that reason I think it's worth watching this development.
I think you will see quite the opposite reaction from the general public. What is wrong in suggesting the treaty is honoured with everyone being treated equally?
Paranormal
You can't have read the advertisement paranormal.
I don't think you'll see a positive reaction from the public on this, in fact so far it's been vilification. Might have worked several years ago but Ansell and Brash have completely misread the zeitgeist. I'm expecting Key to be challenged now to declare whether he'll work with these racist fools. He'll have to say no, or the 'Vote John, get Don" meme will fire up.
Happy days!
Au contraire Robert I have read it several times, but I don't think you can have read the ad to be calling it racist. There was nothing racist in the ad. There was in fact the opposite - a call for equality in the law as opposed to race based policies.
As an aside are you aware of how apartheid started in South Africa? it seems to be what you are promoting here.
As for 'public reaction', we will all have to wait for that. If it's the same as the reaction following the Orewa speech we'll get lots of shouting from the media, academics, and maori radicals. All of which will only prove to the public that there must be something right about what Act was saying.
At the moment I doubt wether 5% of NZ would have read the ad, but the more the shouters carry on, the more people will read the ad.
Paranormal
paranormal - it's true, we are speculating here. Let's revisit the issue in a couple of week's time. If Act's popularity has risen, I'll know you were right. If not, we can pretend "the public haven't fully understood what Act is about yet" :-)
Hey Paranormmal,
if topping crime and imprisonment statistics is privilege, or
if low incomes and high unemployment rates are privilege, or
if poor health and housing are privilege, or
if having ones language and culture debased and destroyed is a privilege
then damn it all, I'd rather not be privileged.
My contempt for ACT reached new heights with Brash's outright attack on the atttempts of some iwi to have their property rights recognised. I thought property rights werre a cornerstone for ACT. Not unless you are non-maori, it seeems.
