Rather beautiful, but Im not sure if this doomsday shelter will take a direct hit from the plunging comet.....better add a blanket over the top before the stone falls! :-)
You are quite right about that, Fred. Have you any suggestions? At this point, we are thinking tin, which would give the whole structure more strength, though it's already perfectly stable. Copper would look really nice, but waaaaay too expensive for me, unless I can locate some for nowt. Either way, metal will darken the house, which doesn't matter too much, but ideally, more glass would be the solution of choice. I have roof slate (Welsh, recycled from the now-extinct Opepuki courthouse), but that's heavy and dark. I'm considering shakes, split from some of my own homegrown alders, or thatch, as I have on my lurkim. Either way, I'm looking for something different, with a romantic aspect. I plan to paint the exterior green (natch!) and keep the interior natural, with oiled wood. It's a lovely space to be in already. I'm growing 'shoofly plant' as an understory for whatever I do plant in there. Already they are 3cm high, and growing fast!
you know, I've actually used that clip on my show Robert! The episode I'm currently producing right now starts with Homer wanting in with Flanders (or more accurately, for Flanders to GIVE it to him and LEAVE!), and then it ends an hour later with the whole angry town mob storming in!

Looking good,the final look will depend on how well you fill in the gaps but I doubt that that will be a problem
