At first I thought, skull cap, proto-human, trepanned; the small burr-hole, the arched dome. The size though; tiny, more marmoset than man. Turns out, it's a fragment from a china egg, used to encourage the hens to lay in the nest. It was whole, years ago, but was lost and somehow broken. Great mystery though, for those who like make believe.
