Climate Change event - Riverton

We didn't march, chant or wave placards but instead occupied the viewing platform overlooking the estuary where we set up signs and banners, listened to a presentation on Wise Response, talked about local evidence of the over-charged climate and enjoyed the sunshine and sparkling waters that fell upon our shoulders and surrounded us, respectively. A preacher from the Anglican church, the Reverend Denis Bartley, led the discussion and was supported in the way that kaikorero traditionally are, with a waiata from members of the church's choir. Gulls wheeled, cars slowed to read the banners, life went on as usual in our tiny coastal village. Here's a pic of Denis at his outdoor pulpit. Thanks to all who turned out this Sunday to make a statement about Climate Change.
