That made for interesting watching.

Dotcom fired a shot across key's bow and says he has proof to follow. I believe he has.

But as I predicted, Key controlled the situation by cutting Dotcoms time from 25 to 15 minutes and not commenting on anything except the fact that he had no prior knowledge of him before the raid. I did notice Dotcom had something concerning to say about most politicians in the room except Russel.

Point of order, Mr Chairman.
Standing orders for hearings dictates that the comissioners must not engage in debate with the submitters, and may only ask questions of them.

I cringed when one of the submitters was asked "what would you think if one of your neighbours was looking up bomb recipes?"
The principle is well enough answered already, and it's the same as if the neighbour is looking up recipes for apple pie or anything else. The government does not have the power to legislate how or what we think . Being able to look things up on the internet is part of a free society.

Dotcom had obviously prepared for a 25 minute session and when it was shortened to 15 min he had to abbreviate his presentation. This would make him appear less prepared and was obviously designed to rattle him, it also restricted the number of questions that could be asked. An obvious and clever strategy.

Why wasn't Mr Dotcom prepared for such cunning, I wonder?
He's not so versed in jibing and smart-arsing as Key is, and did well under the circumstances. Of course, he holds the trump card - the evidence that Key has been lying. Now, Key has to try to discredit Dotcom as much as possible and continue to 'out-bold' him (I know you don't know!) He's not afraid to build on a lie at all, going for gold regardless of hits taken is Key's modus operandi. It's interesting to watch and could get very messy in the last moments of the game.
