"A career in Parliament is not a natural choice for women"

Viewed in Tory-vision, here.

Nice pic - but what on earth is the Labour Party doing with this latest angle? (the so-called "Man Ban") To me it looks like they exist in some sort of time warp completely irrelevant to the state of the nation right now. I was a student in the 80s and involved in the women's movement back then but it almost seems an anachronism to be going over this right now. We are desperate in need of good decent leadership right now whether male or female - I would hate to exclude either.

Now there's a quote from a conservative white man with more than enough to meet his own needs, if ever I saw one. What's the source? Something from the 60s or 70s, surely, based on the content and the picture.
Was there an explanation of how parliament is suited for men?

The Gardener - I don't know what the Labour Party are doing. What ever it is, I know any mis-step by them will be magnified out of proportion by the media and the right-wing bloggers. Might be best to ask them.

AC - the quote is from good ol' Keeping Stock and does reveal his thinking rather cruely, I think, but there you go, that's who we have shilling for this present Government - men like him.

From an old post at Keeping Stock, I presume. 1960s or 1970s, surely. That must be quite an archive he has.
I suppose it could be recent, I've not visited recently because he's been a bit dull.

Mmmmm....hot off the Keeping Stock press, AC, this is avant garde thinking, apparently. You are right to think the attitude is from the 'she's a mod' era, but sadly, no, banged out on the old KS keyboard just this week. Heaven forbid.

Imagine environment southland with six women mandated to be on it Rob

just a couple seem to be angst inducing enough for you (amd others) maybe it is time for men to get out of politics entirely and spend their lives doing something useful instead

Runfrit, you reckon, darkhorse?
Today's front page gives the council a good flogging. All claims from the dairy industry based on anecdote, I note.

We cant help but wonder whether She Who Must Be Obeyed will be pleased to know that obedience is not one of the seven deadly sins - if we might humbly suggest that to be a wilfully blind hypocrite with every post or comment we make is a form of shilling obedience, quelle surprise!

Direct quote, that.
