Bumf

Ele Luudman, National Party stalwart/flunky says:

"The left are criticising the Budget for not tackling poverty.
But they are wrong as Finance Minister Bill English pointed out:"

Andrei, longtime commenter on Luudman's 'Homepaddock' blog replied:

"What a load of bumf.
Welfare reforms are going to miracle up meaningful and worthwhile employment for thousands out of thin air?
t is all just slogans from a dull unimaginative, uninspiring Government who hold the treasury benches by default because their opposition is so woeful."

In a way Andrei is correct.
I noted that in a previous post Ele had remarked on the futility of arguing with people who have abandoned reason, and the only comment at that stage was from Andrei, who had immediately started frothing irrationally about socialism. The irony was striking.
Tempting though it is to try to explain to Ele that rational thought has its uses, but is not always appropriate, I will refrain. I already have a brick wall to talk to, and it doesn't require the use of a keyboard.

Walls built from bricks made from blue clay are completely impervious to reason. It's a well-known fact.

I couldn't help myself. I had to go to homepaddock and comment on that post

Killer!

"Now in this post you use the absolute data and ignore the relativistic, again for the convenience of the argument."

*sigh!

Thanks. Another small step on my quest for a thing said well.
BTW I haven't forgotten about the email I owe you, about water. Today the garden beckons.
