Kei runga marae

Spent a very fruitful day, not in the orchard but on Murihiku marae hearing from Stu, Dean and Michael, the two special Janes and others with manawhenua, manamoana, about water. Lots of sitting, it's true, but some very constructive korero around mahitahi partnerships, kotahitanga and how to see te tai ao through different eyes. Our new CE was made very welcome and responded with a mihi that he's sure to make his own as time goes by. I drew the kakau witi poto and closed for the Councillors, making reference to our tuakana/teina relationship with tangata whenua ki Murihiku and was very happy to be supported by Rangimarie with a waiata tautoko that showed that I'd not entirely missed the mark with my summation.
