Another morning well spent

Planting apple trees, again, this time at Surrey Park school (great kids), Waverley Park school (just as great) and Glengarry Kindergarten (hilarious wee people - runny-nosed boys with 'big muscles', teeny girls who didn't want to touch dirt, more robust ones that couldn't keep out of it). We planted Kid's Orange Reds, Tydeman's Late Oranges and Luxton's Fortunes that will some day feed hungry children crispy, fresh fruit. Good fun and all thanks to Bec's Amunsden, candidate for the Invercargill City Council by-election which is probably decided by now (good luck Becs!), who is facilitating the planting out of fruit trees all around the suburb of Glengarry as part of her vision to energise and enable that community. All power to her arm!
Here's the tree that stands at the gate to one of the schools, its branches all buffed by the hands of clambering, climbing children.
