This is nothing new. I lived on the coast and I remember the large trucks with their vibrations pads underneath working near our house up the New River Valley checking for oil and gas. Mum used to go spare because the crockery used to rattle across the benches.
Secret, pppffftt. I spose they were using black hawks to keep them under the radar -

I suppose, Towack, that the issue here is that the Government is pretending that this is about to happen, when, if vto is correct, it's already been happening for some time. It's a matter of whether National is being honest.

By golly Robert, that's an outrageous cartoon you see when you go to the post at The Standard.
It's John Key, if I'm not mistaken, and Tom Scott has done two terrible things.
For one, he is dressed as a criminal and a thief, when clearly John is nothing of the sort.
And he is drawn with a big nose; we all know what that means.
Tom Scott is an awful fellow and you are too, by republishing such trash. -

Dear Armchair Critic
I can't apologise sincerely enough!
I don't know why I did it. For the life of me, I didn't notice the nose, nor the burglar attire. My standards have slipped and I'm grateful for your chastisement though I have to admit, at first read, I thought you were Shunda!
And that Tom Scott! I'll never look at his cartoons again! -

goodness me, I must have been possessed. Sorry about that.
What I really meant was "it's nice to see I'm not the only person out there who has linked the actions of the National-led goverment to theft". -

Tom's boldly gone where others timidly tread, Armchair Critic.
Three cheers for the bold-goers!
I'll post the cartoon. -

I don't have a problem with you talking about "theft" armchair, whatever 'floats your boat' and all that, but linking our situation to all evil dictators throughout known human history?...well......you know what I mean.....

So typical of the demonising tactics of the left though, I'm guilty before I ever even said anything.
Nice cartoon by the way. -

Look, this lot are completely untrustworthy.
The aeromagnetic surveying work was largely completed in those Westland areas last year. I know. I saw it being done. You are being duped people.
This government are a pack of liars

I don’t know if this is of interest to any of you green party people out there but what I have outlined above is true. I mentioned it last year and supplied the name and phone number of the company doing the exploration. The helicopter flew over us several times, each line about 3-400m apart, with the aeromagnetic instrument sticking out the front. There was no doubt. (have experience in working with aeromag). It was Feb 15-20 approx., just before the Chch quake.
How can the government suggest it is doing this now when it did it secretly last year?
They are blatant liars and this is absolute proof.
They need to be extremely closely watched – not just with words in Wellington but by eyes in the wilderness. Guarantee they will be assessing other aspects, such as access etc, right now. We will be informed after the event.
Liars.

apologies but just want to keep this up here for people to see. This is a real life example of this governments deception. Everyone needs to keep eyes and ears open on this.
Watch your local papers, your local contractors, your local councils, watch for newbies in new 4wds.
