you're suggesting I should regard highly the warblings of two 'lame stream' editors?
How does that work again?
I'd pick it's more what resonates with 'Waitakere Man'. In this instance people as a whole understand boundaries and consequences. No biggie that the mionister is publicising the consequences. It may assist 'les autres' when they see it is no idle threat.
The public also have a low opinion of politicians and when there is some indication of dodginess they accept it as fact. That's why I think the greens political posturing with the petition is overall detrimental to their 2014 chances.
"the mionister(sic) is publicising the consequences"
It's the manner in which it was done, paranormal, as if you didn't know.
As to the Greens promotion of the referendum being detrimental to their 2014 chances - don't bet on it. They've chosen the path of the people, in my view, and the people will thank them for it. There is much to be gained between now and the day the results of the referendum are announced. Already, the Greens have strong popular support. People like to think they will be listened to; National is fighting against a process that gives the public a voice and the Greens are throwing themselves whole-heartedly into ensuring that voice will be heard. The Greens, and the public are on to a winner.
Personally, I think the boy racer culture needs reeling in, but when I watched this piece on the tele all I could do was cringe.
The whole thing was just wrong, the way they did it was exactly as a rival gang would act with the spoils of victory of some recent clash.
The government is not a gang, all this stupid stunt will achieve is more disenfranchisement and ensure the "war" continues.
We are not at war with young people, we need to show them that, and then show them a better way.
Once again, there are huge problems revolving around young people and cars that need solving, a government minister in heels standing on a crushed car is not the way to do it.
RG, I don't doubt the Greens dog whistle to the easily lead that have accepted the left's propoganda on asset sales for the last couple of decades is 'a winner'. What I was saying is that the way they have gone about it will lose them support. The people the Greens are wooing don't like politicians that rort the funding.
In more ways than one the referendum is a poor political move. It gives the Gnats plenty of ammunition, particularly when they can say the Greens ignored 86% of the population in the referendum about smacking.
A good number of those easily lead souls you're targeting will be very angry at the legislation that has allowed the authorities to remove the grandchildren from grandparents who used the wooden spoon. Disgraceful. That's one your lot have to take full responsibility for. And now you've given the gnats full opportunity to remind everyone of it.

You must have forgotten, paranormal, that National - every one of their MPs voted in favour of the bill, despite the referendum. That kind-of makes your argument null and void, doesn't it.

A very crass stunt and a new low for a Minister of the Crown.
Key held the title with his Prime Mincer cat-walk antics, but at least that was just a stupid mistake. This is verging on the obscene.

Sensibly said, Shunda.
