Potato planting in May

I've planted a dozen La Ratte potatoes in my tunnelhouse, tucked in for the winter under a blanket of straw, red seaweed and compost.
The spuds in a sack under my kitchen table were beginning to sprout, so I took it they're wanting to get on with growing and obliged them by finding the warmest spot I have and putting them to bed.
If successful, I'll have some very early potatoes indeed.
