Lurkim up-date
The walls are up! Or rather, the frame, which represents the walls and the roof, all in one branchy package. Now that the floor is laid and the drainage in place, I felt bold enough to have a go at erecting the frame, one rhododendron branch at a time. It went surprisingly well. Because I am using naturally shaped branches, albiet carefully chosen and cut to suit, I was not sure that they would all mesh together tightly enough to provide a secure structure, but they did, without problem. It's kind of magnificent, in my opinion. The next step is to gather up cabbage tree leaves en masse and tie them onto the hazel wands I've cut from my coppiced hazel copse, then bind those to the rhodo frame to create the thatch that will keep me dry, no matter what the weather. Once I get there, I'll be planning a launch that's bound to involve cider and pomp. For today, I'm resting on my laurels ('cause it's raining outside!)

Is there a anticipated date for when the Lurkim will be manned for consultations?
Bookings are already rolling in but I'm reluctant to set a date - I've a lot of beard to grow between now and lift-off. Plus, no one has confirmed the date for the completion of the daikon suit.
What am I going to wear?
I can't sit there all nude.
(Mind you, if the beard's long enough...)
I wouldn't go lurkin in the bushes in the nude if I were you...Nec minnut......
lawyer?
"oh look children, the full moon is rising, waaaaait a second....avert your eyes children!!!!"
It has happened before and it will happen again.
My friends and I one stood in the middle of a paddock and "raised 3 moons" at the Tranz alpine express!!!
Poor tourists, no one wants to see that sort of townie nonsense on holiday!!
Probably thought they were witnessing the Transit of ....wait a minute - that's enough of your rhyming allusions young fella!
