Now, I'm eyeing-up thatching materials. My first choice is cabbage tree leaves (rau ti kouka) and I've a lot of those, all tree-dried and within ladder-reach, but will I have enough? The lurkim stands twice my height and represents a lot of thatching. I'll start picking today and store them under the temporary cover that I wound around the lurkim frame yesterday.
