We have other worries, Fred. If National gets back in, we'll become significant contributors to the climate changes that will damge our own agricultural productivity. This a stupid path to take and it's the one National have said they choose. The Great South Basin and it's ecosystem will become emperilled through National's insistence on drilling for oil in its deep and dangerous waters. Those are just two of the things Southland has to worry about, Fred. For the moment, water is at the top of the list. It's something we can attend to, no matter who's in Government and it is a pressing issue. Much of yesterday in the board room of Environment Southland was spent discussing water.
Just a suggestion, Rg. Support the coalition being muted by some "greens" with the "nats". Look what TT and PS managed to get. Great bargaining tool - NO DEEP SEA DRILLING; NO LIGNITE MINING - hell there is plenty in other parts of our fair land, but you'd be ok down south.
Russel swam fearlessly with the sharks today, fred, and is confidently describing the Green's suitability as Associate Finance Ministers. I'm sure you agree.
Bit of a learning curve for the Greens. But hey! Nothings impossible. So I take it you are 'comfortable' with the thought of a National/ Green coalition. Does have a certain ring to it.

I think "Notional" describes them well. John Key, the Notional PM, leading a Notional government. Any takers?
