Thanksgiving

Our American friends had a Thanksgiving celebration and invited us to feast with them. We made a bread cornucopia overflowing with vegetables, and an apple, berry and plum pie decorated with pastry leaves.
It was some feast!
Mysteriously, we were required to listen to the extended version of Alice's Restaurant! Some of the guests wore feathered headbands!

Kia ora Robert,
As an expat Yank Thanksgiving is a holiday I still miss the most in terms of longing for my family and friends back there, and what is mostly just a day of being with each other. Can't say I recall ever listening to Arlo and Alice's Restaurant on the day - but it certainly is a way to pass a fair bit of time :) - Happy Thanksgiving.
Cheers,
Robb

Those were impressive pieces of soft-tech, Bio.
Robb - our host pointed out that the famous 18 minutes of erased tape that was part of Richard Nixon's downfall, matches exactly the length of Arlo's song.

My family and I were invited over to a Tongan 21st birthday celebration on Saturday.
I was nervous at first but my timidness was quickly overcome with the most amazing hospitality.

The 21st birthday is a huge deal to Tongan people, especially back in Tonga I am told.

The food was amazing! and the Tongan ladies kept bringing me more and insisted we take a heap home with us.

I am glad I got over myself and went along!!

There isnt an extended mix of the great Alices Restaurant song, they are all long.
If you want a short Arlo song, check out 'the pickle song' (motorcycle song) - back when music was just that!
