Things are looking very lush, although it's very dry and getting drier. Newly ploughed fields will be losing moisture fast, along with carbon, but here in my garden, live crops or newly cut mulch protects the soil from desiccation. Here's an example of the growth we are experiencing just now - the 'grass' in the foreground is oat. I've thrown in a photo of a trillium as well, to illustrate where we are in terms of the season. This flower has been out for a couple of weeks now and is looking a little ragged.
