"We are principled, we are patient and we have built a powerful political voice as an independent party."
That's right Metiria and well said.
Metiria's speech at the Green's AGM describes the Green's position accurately and puts to bed speculation over their plans post-election.
"The Green Party says it could support a Labour-led government "in the right circumstances" but support for National is highly unlikely." says the report here.

And what the hell have Labour ever done for the environment Robert?
The only reason the Greens can splice into Labour so comfortably is due to the gooey red centre.
MMMMMMM soooo gooooooey!!
"In the right circumstances" was the operative phrase Shunda and well chosen I reckon. As to what Labour did for the environment - not enough by a long shot and certainly not a fraction of what the Greens would do, given the chance.
National though, by my reckoning, are actively working against the well-being of the environment. If we had to work with a larger party, which presumably we will, Labour's 'better' environmental record would be what would tip it. You sure hate those people. Glad I'm a Green!
Why don't you make the bastards work with you Robert?
Why can't that be possible?
You sure hate those people.
No I don't, but I can't stomach their arrogance and presumption.
Hate is too strong, and it is not accurate.
Leaders open doors, some doors are good, some are bad.
I'm thinking Labour will only work with us ... when we wield such influence that they'd suffer by not working with us - that's politics Shunda - it ain't so pretty, up close.
Thank goodness the Greens have based their whole existence on honesty and integrity.
Labour did the original groundwork on the RMA.
They also passed the Conservation Act and established DOC.
I sent Damien O'Connor a letter once (Labour MP for West Coast/Tasman) I told him exactly what would happen with his party - and it did.
He wanted to meet me but I was on holiday when the invite came and I missed the opportunity.
He sent me some bullshit from Michael Cullen to 'allay' my concerns.
Well, we all know how he feels about the situation now.
Integrity and politics don't mix Robert, you will be hard pressed convincing me that the Greens are any different.
Then I'll not try Shunda, believing that you can lead a horse to water but...
Hey I'm open to the possibility, but you yourself said: "that's politics Shunda - it ain't so pretty, up close."
......and the water of politics is worse than the water of dairy farming.......and you drink that stuff??
I use a filter Shunda - it's one that has improved with age.
What? the ability to drink stinky water or some sort of complex political 'muslin' :)
gooey, but PRINCIPLED
A bullsh*t filter.
Works in both mediums.
I'll get you one.
