Hone and Tau were invited. So was Shane. The Bish wanted them on-stage so that he could bask in their mana and they in his. Tau was lost for words, Shane looked at home amongst the sinners and Hone - Hone should have stayed at home but he went - votes are votes, no matter where they come from it would seem. Tamaki played them for fools, prayed for their souls and their money and didn't invite any women - Metiria Turei never got to see her 'lost-in-the-mail invite'!
Good fortune was hers. No need then for here to prostrate herself at the Bishops feet, like the others. Not that the Green Maori would have done that! She got to go head to head with the Bishop's media man on CampbellLive, where she shone her bright green light on his misogyny and at the same time got to make the Maori boys look ... silly.
If you lie down with dogs...shoulda' fleed Hone!

Ha!
My favourite bit was when Campbell started whimpering!! These Maori boys are ok!!!!!
Campbell got a whupping fo' sho' Shunda - It's curious that you and I see Metiria's performance so differently. I'm genuine in my observation and I guess you are in yours. Odd, ain't it.
I'd have called it Metiria's best performance to date and a sign that she's in top form for this election. Willing to collate other comments here and take a look at it objectively?
I'll cut and paste anything I find, though I won't be prowling the blog of the penguin or the whale - hadly likely to find un-biased comment there :-)
What about Pita? He was there axs well ...
It's curious that you and I see Metiria's performance so differently.
Oh she's feisty all right, but a difficult environment for her tonight, she was the odd one out for several reasons.
The destiny chap was clearly rattled by her though, was his back hand twitching?
:)
His Devil's Claw you mean Shunda :-)
She was the odd one out, to her credit.
Inv2, Sharples was there and looked like a beaten old man, both on stage with the Brain Washing Tamaki, and in Campbell's studio .. I think... he was the invisible man somehow.
He's beaten, I reckon.
Sharples was invisible in Campbell's studio Rob; because he wasn't there! The panellists were Harawira, the dude from Destiny, Ms Turei, together with Helen Clark's fave Little Creep.
You forgot the Nat Inv2 - Tau Lost-for-words Henare was on a link. Sharples was sitting right beside Campbell, but as I said, invisible :-)
Robert, do you really have an issue with them going to Destiny church?
If so, would you have the same issue if they went to an Anglican or Catholic organisation?
They can go where ever they like Shunda but they'll be coloured by that experience in the eyes of voters. The Destiny crowd might take a shine to one of them, but they'll vote the way Tamaki tells them too. It's not my kind of democracy. There are so many aspects of his 'church' I find unpalatable that I would prefer that the person I favour didn't go at all. I doubt that the real message, if one was given, would fall on fertile ground there. I suspect there was no invitation. I'd bet my mitre on it.
Would I have the same issue with an Anglican or Catholic Church?
Are Anglicans and Catholics allowed to chose who they give there vote to?
I believe so, so no.
Yeah, I was not expecting 'what's iz face' to proclaim "Bishop will direct"
I don't like that one bit.
But there were cameras there and no obvious attempt to hide anything, unlike Dr Brash and the 'bretho's'.
Yep. Brazen as. Can't imagine Tamaki goes anywhere unless there are cameras.
Like Key in that :-)
Well at least Key isn't proclaiming "do what I say or rot in hell"
I get the feeling that Brians church is what my old pastor dreamed of attaining.......
Here ya go Shunda:

true true, and wasn’t it interesting watching them all on Campbell Live last night. Tau Henare is a dork isn’t he? He always comes across as a smart-arse loaded to the gunnels with arrogance. Pathetic display.
And as for Shane Jones, bloody hell. Sit up straight man. Sort out your lazy eye and don’t pull dumb faces at the camera. He just looked like we was watching a porno.
Metiria Turei came across as polished and excellent. A big future would seem to loom imo. Similarly even Hone came across well – looked good and calm and put his view across.
Best performance though has to go to the Destiny Church guy. Last election he had all the answers and last night he seemed to take centre stage and put away each and every question with ease.
Bery illuminating.

That was how I saw it.
Must say the sight of BT laying hands on Tau,Pita and Hone was the most nauseating of the evening. I wouldn’t let that creep anywhere near me.
And ... Jackal

“I was capitalized in the holy book of bling.”
I tend to agree with your summation there fly @ 8:43 PM. The whole “give me yo money” crap is pretty creepy. I’ve got a good story to tell re Destiny Church. The inside gossip so to speak. Will work on it over the next few days :)
Metiria did very well in what was predominantly an awkward show on Campbell Live. Whatever that destiny Church guys name is; he should learn to keep his damn hands to himself.
I can see this is causing you some considerable concern Robert!!
Yes I guess she did ok.
I think I just get sick of the claims of misogyny etc (that was raised again on this interview) that really has nothing to do with what is being discussed.
I don't agree with Tamaki and his doctrine, but I think it is a stretch to say they hate women, gays, and kids.
I just think it is getting a bit tired and Met and Campbell would do well to change the record.
You're very forgiving Shunda.
The Destiny guy was not a pleasant chap and I don't think he treats women with respect.
Trust me Robert, Destiny will have ideas far uglier than that even.
The 'prosperity' type doctrine these guys are pushing is something I am very familiar with, I abhor it.
Actually Robert, I think you are right, I do think he had 'attitude' towards Metiria, I don't want to sound like I am defending these guys.
Then it's Metiria for PM :-)
