The mighty jungle

Southland is experiencing an uber-exuberance of growth right now and I've just been out protecting the delicate plants from the rambling and blowsy. My carrots were succumbing to fumitory, the onions to land cress and the shallots were being buried by volunteer lettuce and New Zealand spinach. It's the perfect evening for weeding and being amongst the vegetables and herbs.

The wife's 30th birthday today, and rather than get her the typical tacky crap I took a risk.

She received:

A lemon tree.
A plum tree
A cherry tree
2 Feijoa bushes
And a truck load of compost for her new vege garden!.

She is absolutely rapt!!

I think we're greenies!!

Happy birthday Mrs Barunda!
Looks like you're guaranteed a fruitful future.
What a thoughtful bloke you are Shunda but it takes more than that to attain greeny status. Did you serve Mrs B a spiralina smoothie for breakfast?
That's what a real greeny would do :-)
