Now that our exports to China are on the brink of doubling, even trebling according to John Key, will we cancel our 'desperate need' to dig up minerals from our national parks?

An interesting question, whilst we may not agree on mining and much else, the question is well worth posing
Adam - I've not said anything about mining per se, just the security of Schedule 4.
I hope the question of returns from mining, minor as they seem to be, now stack up against those expected from greatly increased exports.
A further question from me would be:
With greater wealth flowing into the country, will we New Zealanders translate that into increased environmental degradation, through an increased waste stream and all of the other issues that result from increased consumerism?
