As shoppers trundle about the streets of Invercargill, they're being watched by unblinking eyes!
Not banks of security cameras such as you'd find in most U.K. cities, for now anyway, but by green men.
You may not have noticed the cast-metal heads fixed onto bollards and plinths around the city but they're
there and have been for sometime.
It seems curious to me that the Greenman has made it this far south, without causing a ruckus. After all, Southlanders are, or at least were, God-fearing folk. Perhaps we're now a happy combination of religious and realistic.
I'd like to think so.
