Good morning!

(Click image for Big Picture view)

Today we are filling this forest with potatoes, placed on the soil and covered with 'forest litter', in as many light-wells as we can find. I'm using 20 or so heritage potato varieties, from Scary Blue to the Bluff Whaler.

Potatoes, tomatillos and guinea pigs hail from the same part of the world. Good luck with the spuds.

Thanks, Joe. Yes, they do. It's curious how many organisms we share with parts of South America. Poroporo too, and that's fascinating. Also ulluco and anu. When Chilean visitors come here, they feel right at home, they say.
