Hey robert

I had one just like that. I got it from an old lady when I was a young lady. I think I kept some handcraft in there like embroidery or something. I will ask Mum as she probably still has it and she will know what they are called. I think its lovely and I would have bought it if I had seen it first!

Sorry about the double up in comment. Must have got carried away with the excitement. Could have had a hard road to row though.

Hey PC! That'd be a great 'something' to keep crafty stuff in, that's for sure. It's a lovely piece of work, isn't it. Most blokes wouldn't look twice at it, I suppose, but I saw the magic in it :-)and I'm glad I got there before you did:-)
I still don't know though, what they are called...

OK - just been to my mother's and sure enough she has the two we had growing up. She thought they were made from old greeting cards stitched together but it looks to me like paper stuck onto card. Ours were made by a very regal lady, Mrs Pomare from Haranui Marae near Helensville for my father. They are apparently designed to put your hankies in. So now you have somewhere to put your hankies! I am going to take some photos of these and send to you. Actually one of them as the crocheted squares I made when I was 12. She is such a hoarder.

Wonderful and thanks! Perhaps these are more 'NZ' than Buzzy-Bees, who knows?
