Here in New Zealand. Warmest. Winter. Since records began.
Come on in, you Monckton devotees, and tell us how there's nothing unusual in that.

The observations of an observant Southlander

Anything Salinger promotes has got to be dodgy. He is UEA trained after all. So is he going to predict the end of snow in New Zealand - just like the UK metservice did a couple of years ago?
This is still well within seasonal variation and has more to do with the way the Tasman weather patterns have been set up. August has been mild and the farmers are enjoying it. But we're still enjoying the skiing and everyone seems to have forgotten just how cold July was?
It is certainly not proof of AGW, not by a long shot. Or are you confusing weather with climate?
Our witer has been very warm though, hasn't it.
Unusually warm.
Warmest on record.
winter
July was cold. Its still cold around our way, and winter's not over yet.
But yes it has been mild (I wouldn't use the word warm) and we're grateful for it. But "since records began"? That is a little over dramatic considering the paucity of our records.
I would suggest it has more to do with Tasman sea temperatures that create blocking highs coming across than Gorebull Warming. Its possibly part of a larger seasonal process that we can't see because too much in the way of resources has been spent investigating the scam that is AGW.
Paucity? 150 years of temperature record keeping is a paucity?
Cripes!
Check this out, para:

Do we really have 150 years of consistent and accurate temperature readings?
Gosh I didn't realise crunchy apples were only available through the little ice ages we've had...

Sorry RG that 'study' sounds like more greenwash.
Was there a claim that the readings over the past 150 years were consistent and accurate?
You are demanding a lot of those meteorologists from 150 years ago, para.
Get real.
We do the best we can and don't dismiss information from the past because of the immaturity of science and recording.
You are reinforcing my point RG. Particularly with Salinger making the claims with his reputation for dodging up the record.
I wasn't dissing information from the past. We all (except for those with an AGW agenda) accept there were limitations on what was previously available. I am actually dissing Salinger and his twisting of it for his own agenda.
