Earl collects and packages seeds from his garden and sells them in the foyer of the home. I liked his packaging and his relentless efforts to spread the gardening thing as far as he could, despite being confined to a walking frame or electric scooter. I also liked the varieties he's packaged and that's why I bought them.

Earl's a marvel. "I'm a herb-man" he says. He's super-keen to learn about and try to grow any and every herb or interesting plant I could suggest. I took him some anu, Chinese artichokes, shoofly and Cape Gooseberry seeds. He'll sow them as soon as the season allows. The rest home s very warm and the potential for starting seeds early, huge :-)
Lovely to hear this and that the rest home is amenable to Erle's activities. Will he have a stall at the next heritage festival?...I'd love to meet him :)
He's unable to get about much at all, renetsil, but thrives on visits (Wyndham Rest Home) and would delight in showing you around if you called in. His mission was to create a centre for peacefulness using plants and he's succeeded. He's a very astute guy and (almost) painfully modest.
