Ciderliscious!

Our new cider press is a magnificent beast! Just look at her, all poised ready to press - wood oiled, steel work gleaming. This morning's pressing was a complete success, with apple juice streaming into the stainless steel bucket like a waterfall with barely any effort from the operator. Magic, and the juice was the best ever - fresh, invigorating and plentiful. She's sitting outside of the shop in this photo, attracting comment and advertising the harvest festival to boot.
I predict very happy times ahead for all concerned.

Pressed some of the grapes yesterday, 170 litres so far!!
The harvest has exceeded all expectations and the tow home pushed the shunda wagon to the limit!

Stop your wining Mr Barunda!
That's grape news Shunda - you'll be set something to slake your thirst for many a month now.
Did you tread those grapes or have a press of some sort?
Bros all well?

We tread them and pressed them in a plywood press.
We also sampled some more of last years crop on harvest night, potent stuff!
I am hoping it will become a family tradition, it was a lot of fun.
Looks like there will be bumper Olive crop this year as well, so will be back up there in May.

Nice. Olive oil doesn't go to your head in quite the same way though!
