Excellent crop
Now all you have do is source the extra long torpedo type they have in France/Europe
The round variates we have here are such a bugger to peel while the French ones are excellent
I was seriously tempted to smuggle some home but of course didn't
But I will be going to plenty of markets to see if any can be found

When you do find them Ray, think of us in Riverton! We'd love to try them too. If you can get some 'torpedo' shallots, replant them and encourage them to seed, then voila!
The shallots in the photo are 'Golden Globe'. We got those by trading for a few bottles of worm juice. Good trade.
Do you grow swede? We are growing the old 'Doone Major' - sweetest swede under the sun!

Yes I will keep you in mind
We are doing a road trip around East Cape so who knows what we might turn up
I have both golden and a red variety at present
Well done on the swedes, great sheep feed but I will eat them on occasion (but only after a frost)
