Hoverfly craziness

The wild parsnip flowers are alive with flies, hovering and sipping. Clouds of diptera surround every inflorescence in numbers that have to be seen to be believed. I took some individual portraits and will return to the melee once my camera's battery is recharged. In the meantime, here are three representative shots.
