Fonterra chairman Sir Henry van der Heyden has the in-calf cows on his Putaruru farm induced - a practice that Fonterra says it doesn't support.
Asked why, Sir Henry said: "It's like many other farmers, it's about driving productivity. It's to get cows to produce milk over a longer period of the season, which is productivity."
Good grief.
