Vaughn and Megan brought me a selection of apricot stones from their holiday spot in Central Otago and I'll be putting those into the soil tomorrow. From those will grow, given some good fortune, 5 different heritage apricot varieties that I'll plant out around my various orchards and common grounds. Mind you, I'm not counting my chickens just yet. Apricots are very slow growers in their early couple of years and there are challenges ahead for those that do sprout.
