...when suddenly there was a raucous grawwwwking and into sight flew a flock of 11 gawky herons who wheeled as gracefully as they were able and landed in the top of a large macrocarpa, where they are sitting still, enjoying a heron-moot, I guess. 11 herons in one swoop! I've never seen that before.
I didn't get a photo, but I'll never forget the sight.
