That's pretty much the story

"Under National, a whole new and virulent strain of highly intrusive, ideologically driven laws and procedures that extend the powers of Big Government and entrench corporate power have been put in play. And without anything like the same expressions of outrage from the media or the public as we saw directed at Helengrad."

I think it is pretty safe to say all of this is already happening, the law is being changed only because they were caught out by Dotcom. Same in the US, the argument in todays news over there is about spying on US citizens - it is clear they already spy on the rest of us. I shall sign into my Google CIA account now to post this....

In a post that seems driven by a sense of reactionary squeamishness and a rather odd sense of ownership of the subject, legal eminence Graeme Edgeler takes technical issue with a number of Campbell's examples.

Campbell responds, prompting Edgeler to go some way towards redeeming himself with a graceful and measured engagement.

I read Edgeler's comments earlier, Joe and felt that he was tinkering with de tails, while failing to address the elephant.
