National's climate of denial

Trevor29 @ Frogblog says:

"This government has acted on climate change, but all of its acts have been to favour the emissions of GHGs rather than curtail them. The moratorium on new fossil fueled base load power stations was “gone by lunchtime”. Labour’s ETS has been gutted. The government has deliberately not committed New Zealand to the next Kyoto period. Instead it is selling off the electricity generators, making it harder to create an electricity industry that maximises the use of renewable electricity and minimises the use of fossil fuels."

I'll be there.

You'll have to get used to disappointment then. The public are over Gorebull Warmening so the politicians have moved on.

As more facts come to light showing it's been a scam from day one you can expect the ETS to be watered down again and again until it is dropped completely.

That's not what I learned tonight, paranormal.

My guess is that paranormal has seen the light (due to the reduced cloud cover that comes with climate change induced droughts) and is trying to agree with you. The reference to the ETS being "watered down" gives it away; clearly paranormal expects that climate change will also increase the frequency of storm events, which will be the source of the watering down.
What did you learn this evening? Are sea levels still rising?

Bill's message (Do the math) is around three numbers:
The number 2, as in 2 degrees the temperature increase over which all nations agreed the planet must not be subject-to (we have already topped 1 degree),
565 (gigatons of carbon released into the atmosphere before the 2 degree ceiling is hit)
2, 795 (gigatons of carbon already contained in the proven coal and oil and gas reserves of the fossil-fuel companies, not yet extracted, but 'in the pipe-line' to be mined/drilled/fracked)
RollingStone magazine has published the definitive article of McKibben. AC, you've probably read it, Paranormal, you've probably dismissed it out of hand. I challenge you to read it and give us your view.
