Old coins

Whenever I dig, I find. Yesterday, it was ching - both pennies, one Australian and from 1951, the other,  a local minted in 1904(?) and looking a little frayed around the edges.

It's unlikely that the 1904 coin was minted locally, as NZ did not have its own national currency until the 1930s. You've shown the reverse side of the coin and it appears to show Britannia sitting on her throne, which would make the coin English. On the front should be a picture of Edward VII.

Welcome back, AC!
Marvelous!

I'll go and flip the coin over and check. Don't go away :-)

He's too eroded to for me to tell for sure, but I'm going to take your word for it. There is a head and it's that of a male. Looks Edwardish.
I hope you are well.
