Hekia Parata's class photo

We've all got them, class photos from our days at school. There we stand or sit, beaming out or grimacing depending on our experience of schooling, from the seats and benches of our early educational years. Hekia's so proud of hers that she's made it available for us all to enjoy. From it, we can see why she remembers crowded classrooms so fondly and is so keen to foist them upon our own children, almost 100 years after she attended primary school herself. Bit of a tight squeeze though, Hekia. Bit of a fizzer too, your tilt at greatness.

That was cross-country day as well so a third of the class were away at regionals.

It was a very happy day for those left behind - for the first time they were able to set both cheeks onto the chair!
