This is what we enjoyed. We've enjoyed it for months now. This has to be the best autumn in living memory, if blue skies and calm conditions are what you regard as good.

The observations of an observant Southlander

Thunderstorms, downpours, hail, it's all go up here.
Never a dull moment on the Coast.
I love it Robert.
There is more energy exerted on the West Coast than any other part of the country.
I was there for one whomping thunderstorm, Shunda, that trapped Robyn and I in a small hut at Franz Joseph for 12 hours, with Robyn cowering at the foot of the bed, whimpering at each mighty peal.
It was hell:-)
You're lucky she doesn't read this blog often, I bet she tells it different!
She reads is on the hour, Shunda, in case I say stuff like that, but in this instance, she concurs; she was whimpering and cowering while I boldly stood at the window, marveling at the show. The camp, meanwhile, filled with water from the deluge. We were an island.
