I'm talking with Tony Murrell at 7:20 am today about asparagus.
I find the suggestion from the old asparagus growers, to use 'salt hay' to mulch the asparagus bed, most interesting. I have salt hay, harvested estuarine grass, usually spartina, readily available and within wheelbarrow range and have used it in the past, though I'm mindful of the role it plays in the estuary and don't want to deplete on a whim.
I have a javelin also :-)
