Here's an image for any arachnophobes out there - Robyn, fearlessly showing me the huge spider she'd found under a sack of apples she was sorting. I bravely allowed the spider to walk on my hand after I took the shot, but didn't win any praise for being a fast-follower.
(Nice teeth, eh! I was tempted to say, 'nice palps', but that'd be pushing the envelope a bit too hard!)

Actually it was only after I let it walk on my hand was Rob brave enough to let it walk on his! That reminds me of when I let a huge starfish suction itself on to me...should I enter fear factor I wonder?
I must publish that starfish photo sometime.
Memorable hardly describes it!
All I can say is SCREW THAT!!
If that thing won't bite your arm off it sure looks like it could.
Incidentally, the Weta situation has not alleviated around here and if anything they appear to be getting bigger!.
Do you have any idea what sort of spider that is?
Fangius Gigantium I think, or Spiderous Whopperus. At first I thought, South Coast Cow-eating Spider, but from the way it eye-balled me, eye-balled me, eye-balled me, eye-balled me, eye-balled me, eye-balled me, eye-balled me, eye-balled me, I began to suspect it was a man-eater. Robyn was very lucky I was there to save her from a very sticky end. She's ever so grateful for my intervention. It's not every husband that will take on a leviathan, bare-handed and without flinching. I got seriously palped, but don't like to talk about it.
