Post festival post

We're back, tired and experienced. Tomorrow I'll post on our adventures at Whare Flat, but for now, a couple of associated, scene-setting images...

Thank you, AC and to you also a very happy New Year. It's started very well for my family and I, as I hope you can see from these posts - the folk festival was great fun and productive too, in terms of meeting interesting people as well as relaxing in a most pleasurable way. I read too, Collapse and learned a lot from it. I read a newspaper as well (just the one :-) where the Tasman Aorere River 'good news dairy story' was debunked - that is a set-back for the dairy industry that was using the example to promote its intentions to self regulate/audit. I'm looking forward to hearing the defense from the industry representatives who have told that story in the boardroom, in an effort to divert us from regulating/setting rules.

It looks like a great place for New Year celebrations, and while folk music is not something that has grabbed my attention, yet, I know how gatherings like the one you attended can be fun and productive.
For me the New Year has involved painting fences, closing in sheds and tending the garden - I've identified another ten sq.m that would suit flowers under a large tree (or maybe pumpkins/melons), and I have to plant korokia, vegetables, lavender, passionfruit and a couple of lovely standard roses I was given for Christmas.
Haven't heard the Tasman Aorere River good news dairy story - is it an urban legend (in a rural setting)?
