Today's phone call of help from a Rivertonian with an uninvited swarm of bees clustered on a branch in his garden, is the second I've had in two days. It's the weather. Significant heat like that we've experienced over the past week gets bees swarming and they go wherever they will. I've been out to collect this latest cluster and brought them back home in a box. I'll set them out beside an empty hive tonight and let them walk through into their new home which I've 'baited' with a frame or two of honey.
Here's the swarm as I saw it, just prior to my giving it a good shake and having it fall with a soft clump into my transport-box.

Here is a crucial message for beekeepers.
He's a funny guy, that Eddie Izzard and I'm related to him, distantly, my Auntie Pat having married an Izzard.
Beekeepers?
Comedians.
