Exciting news!

"The Russian research vessel Academician Lavrentiev conducted a survey of 10,000 square miles of sea off the coast of eastern Siberia.
They made a terrifying discovery - huge plumes of methane bubbles rising to the surface from the seabed.
'We found more than 100 fountains, some more than a kilometre across,' said Dr Igor Semiletov, 'These are methane fields on a scale not seen before. The emissions went directly into the atmosphere.'"

Still, if you are a climate change denier, it'll be water off a duck's back.

Yawn. How is this anthroprogenic global warming and not a normal natural cyclical event?

Normal in that this is the first cycle since hominids became human?
If so, we'd better batten down the hatches. There's a new experience coming our way.
Para, do you really find the discovery of these huge methane 'fountains' a yawn?

No I find the green angst over them a yawn.

I bet you it isn't the first cycle - its just there seems to be a convenient memory lapse or lack of awareness about previous cycles just like the antarctic ozone hole. As an example there was great adventure to be had when they were sailing up through the Northwest passage in the 1800's. I also feel we're not being told the full story as the whole region freezes up again over winter.

BTW the link you provided wasn't working.

I also assume your post with the chair refers to those that follow the warmenist religion avoiding all the latest evidence that contradicts their dire warnings?

It saddens me to say I used to be a warminist, but fortunately I have seen the truth.

Back in the late 70's my family rented a property on Cockle Bay beach. I remember an article at the time about scientists predicting a 1m to 2.5m rise in sea levels due to gorebull warmening over the next 30 years. I remember it because I was so worried I went and measured what that would mean to the lovely beach we lived on - it would be completely under water. It's no surprise the beach is still there 35 years later, with no flooding or even concerns over high tides.
