It's already to hot to sensibly work outside, but I'll do it anyway :-)
I've been in the garden since 6:30, watering, feeding, weeding and planting. I trimmed up the ugly stubs on the apple-tree-I-burned and dabbed the new cuts with beeswax pruning paste. It looks good, very good. In an attempt to make up for the harm I caused the little guy, I lugged two buckets of my finest liquid manure down to where it's growing and gave it a special feed - something I don't do for any old tree. The only others getting treatment like that are a ginkgo that's a bit diffident about heading skyward, an avocado that's out of its natural range, and a nikau palm, likewise too far south.
