Peas in a pod

All that's missing is a sign saying 'NO'

Watching John Key making his escape from today's press conference, where he was again confronted with questions about his tea-party tittle-tattle, I was aware that in the back of my mind, the memory of another petulant media bunny lurked - a politician who sought the glad-eye of the media for his own self-aggrandisement yet squabbled with them whenever they drifted from the script he wanted them to hold to - yes! That's him! Winston Peters! John Key is behaving like Winston Peters! This must be giving conniptions to those Key supporters who loathe Peters and his past behaviour. Now the Nats have a Peters of their own and good luck to them.

Key performed terribly on the minor leaders debate despite not being there. Shows what pinning a party campaign to one man does.

Key's cherry has popped!

Winston Peters is a better politician than Key, hands down. Your comparison suggesting Key is anywhere near as good as Peters is quite unfair.

And I won't vote for either of them

Yes, Armchair. I apologise :-)

It's a great photo. I'm tempted to go visiting the sewer and various other blogs of ill repute, to see what they have to say about their one and only hope for winning the election. I'm suspecting that National, if they form the next government, won't last the full three years. Especially with a revitalised Goff (I like IF's suggestion that Goff should stay on as Labour leader irrespective of the result of the election) and Peters in parliament. Key won't handle the pressure.

But the asset sales, Armchair, the asset sales!!
Sold Energy, part-owned by foreign industry and forced to dig up lignite through fear of litigation, no matter how much the NZ public might object. That's a serious issue. Goff and Peters will be powerless to stop that, if they are in opposition.

I'm not against digging up the coal. Then again I don't claim to be part of the 99% who also, like you, are claiming to be speaking on behalf of the majority.

Animal - Can't say I've ever claimed to be speaking for the majority. I'm more a minority kinda guy. Being a 12.6% Green points to the kind of support I expect to have.
Might I ask, why don't you comment under your real name? No great shakes, you are welcome to be anonymous, but genuine question.

I was commenting on the above quote. No statisics say that the NZ public is against it and the people that I speak to regarding this issue certainly dont agree with you.
And most people here use non de plumes - its the fun of blogging ah.

Was commenting on your above quote. The people I hang around with don't much issue with mining coal.
As for the non de plume - thats pretty normal for blogging - it adds to the fun ;)

What are they - dwarves (of the Gimli sort?)

Animal, I have to ask, is that your paw-print that follows your nom de plume?
In which case, are you a two-toed sloth?
