Gerry's looking a bit more buff than usual?

Congratulations, you've captured that golden moment before the inevitable "Put some clothes on, you're disgusting" phase. Anyone who recalls Judith Tizard almost taking Remuera in 1987 will know how the "We deserve it" syndrome panned out for Labour.

I liked the line someone used (Bomber I think) 'Democratic Sadomasochism'.

Sucked into the idea of hedonism but the come downs are bad!

Gerry's been cross-training Suz - grapes and caviar one day, pate foie gras and fugu the next, and it shows.

Jo - I've been enjoying your Assorted Goodies blog and the world view you're displaying there. I love the 'Wizard' photograph and wonder if I might use it here sometime soon? I met the Wizard at Oamaru a while ago and enjoyed talking with him about many things. There'll come a time when wizards will re-emerge into the New Zealand scene :-)

Hieronymus! Wonderful to have you pay a visit - love your work, especially your Garden of Earthly delights - so instructive. Did you know there are collectable figurines modelled on your characters, available online? Superb they are too!
Hedonism eh! Gerry's middle name.

Thanks for the kind words Robert.
Re. the Wizard pic, drop a line to Gudrun Gisela at

Like most of the non-munted-about-with pics at Assorted Goodies it's her work.

BTW I recently found a pic of the late John Webster, feral public speaker par excellence:

Believed to be a formative influence on the Wizard, the great man's ability to skewer any interjector with withering invective drew record crowds to Sydney's Hyde Park in the pre-blogging era.
