All hail Southland!
Just checked on my seedlings in the tunnelhouse - don't want them fainting from the summer heat, and while I was out there amongst the tomatoes and lettuces, it hailed - thousands of white frozen spherical chunks if ice drumming on the plastic skin, reminding me not to count my chickens.

Ha, I was in Invercargill this weekend (for the wedding of a Riverton lad no less) and woke up to find a good couple of inches of hail covering the car.
Thankfully all the seedlings I'd taken out of the glasshouse back in Dunedin (to ensure they got some water while we were gone) seemed to survive their weekend
It was rough, David!
The wedding, I mean. Not really. I'm wondering who got hitched and whether they were once a student of mine? Guess I'll hear through the hail-battered grapevine :-)
