Out of range

I'm going to be well off the beaten track for the next few days and unable to blog. The good burghers of Keeping Stock will be relieved and not a little ebullient at that news, but my own highly intelligent and discerning audience might miss my frenetic posting :-)
I'm going into deepest Fiordland with some of my fellow councillors, on a fact-finding mission that will take us to Deep Cove, Piopiotahi and Doubtful Sound. I'm staying at the crib of a councillor who often fishes for trout in Lake Manapouri and am pleased to say that much of the expense of the trip is being met in this way, by the councillors themselves. This contrasts starkly with the councillors from Invercargill City, who are presently spending the city rate-payers dime in Japan! I'm genuinely taken aback to learn that they can do that! I just don't get it. Still, I'm new at the game and will no doubt soon transmogrify into a fat cat also :-)
I'm taking my camera into the fiords and plan to take anyone who sticks with my blog til I return, through the south-west wonderland of waterfalls, fiords, dolphins and whatever-else awaits us there. I'll be posting a comprehensive expose of the thrills and spills of my fellow councillors too, probing into their every private moment and exposing their mis-speaks and mis-steps.... of course I joke, but some of them are concerned that I might, such is the erosive power of blogging. There'll be few secrets shared with me by some though, I can assure you :-)

Even the sandflies - pesky as they can be - cannot dim the pleasure awaiting you.
