Our Men in Black are cheats!

"The All Blacks cheat in spades. Half of their tries in the Tri- Nations have been set up by blatant cheating"

Mark Reason writes a very interesting column in today's various papers, revealing that the All Blacks cheat as a matter of course and describing how, when and when they employ cheating as a way to win their games. As someone who doesn't usually read commentary on the rugby at any level, Reason's article was a bit of an eye opener. I wonder how his revelations will go down with die-hard sports fans like Inventory 2 and his rugby-mad followers.

Here's the link.

If he'd said that in a blog comment, I'd have called him a troll...don't see why it should be any different in a newspaper really.

FWIW, and as an England fan, I don't think the AB's push the boundaries any more than any other team.

How's your rugby history Robert? Do you remember the 1971 Lions tour to New Zealand? They had arguably the worst press contingent in the history of the game following them. Among the worst was a writer by the name of John Reason who had a pathological hatred of New Zealand rugby. It was Reason and his mates who pressured the British rugby authorities to send Keith Murdoch home in 1972 when the matter had already been dealt with.

Guess what; he had a son...

James - 'troll' - how so? He's a commentator with as much 'right' to express his views as anyone else, I'd have thought. Provocative, clearly, but 'troll'?
Is he telling the truth, do you think James?

Inventory2 - not great, my knowledge of rugby history and that's why I appreciate your input. Guess we kiwis don't like Reason, huh!
On what he said, Inv2, his 'cheating' claims. What do you reckon? Is he correct?

I'm about to blog on it Rob; as soon as I have used my creative genius to write some radio commercials. Check out Keeping Stock in about an hour, or if you like, I'll send you the link for you to add to your post.

Cheers Inv2.
Radio commercials? Want some help :-)

Are you going to title your post 'Beyond Reason'?

Keeping Stock said...

Nope; even better than that; and the adverts are nearly done, but thanks for the offer :)

'Beyond Reasonable Doubt'?

Thanks jabba - you made no comment about the rugby. You a figure-skating fan? Synchronized swimming? Curling?

the latest poll came out with this stat:
» 2011 Green voters – 20% prefer Key as PM, 12% Goff
» Struggling Households – 42% prefer Key as PM, 9.5% Goff

wow and now we have you posting about sport!!!

rugby comments. Yes, all our front rowers, Ali, Richie, Piri and your boy all cheat, or should I say push the limits beyond the rules.
The poms are worse with the Aussies, French and Sth Africans. In fact ALL teams do say.

jabba - the polls, yes. The Greens, it seems, are attracting over 11% of the vote! I don't post on such issues because I:
a. Don't like to gloat
b. Don't believe the polls are very useful in predicting the outcome of an election. I recall that the polls said Len Brown would lose. Same with Hone in Te Tai Tokerau.
As to your rugby comments, it confirms my view that high level sportspeople often cheat and cheating isn't something I support. That our All Blacks cheat doesn't impress me at all.

You often see the pairing 'liars and cheats' eh.

Screw the All Blacks I say, nothing but a carefully manicured corporate brand parasitic off misplaced national loyalty.

They have been cheating NZers for a long time now.
