Monckton goes down in flames

Ken Perrot at Sciblogs covers the crash and burn of Christopher Lord Monckton beautifully.

"Ever get the impression the Christopher Monckton may have reached his use-by date? Maybe even well past it?
Looks like this might be the case as the climate change denier/sceptic/contrarian groups trying to organise a programme for him in New Zealand are having problems. Their hero has become so repugnant that dreams of huge publicity for their cause seems to facing the harsh truth of reality.
Apparently, TV programmes Q&A and Close-up are no longer interested. And the host for their Auckland event, Public Relations Institute of New Zealand (PRINZ), has pulled out and left the mess to The Climate Realists – a rather nasty little conspiracy group."

Michael Laws is challenging Monckton to an on-air debate on RadioLive. Best place for it, a tacky talk-back show with a raving loony host :-)
Monckton doesn't tell the truth, will not engage in a written debate and threatens to sue those who challenge him. Why would anyone want to wrestle with that kinda swine?
The Nation this coming Saturday? Why? Monckton's been spurned by all channels, so far as I'm aware.
Here's the thing. onckton didn't travel to New Zealand of his own accord. The Flat-Earth Society brought him out here for their own screwy entertainment. Those are the people who directly threaten the quality of my children's future and that of their children and those of the people I respect for their views on global warming (and those of those who oppose us too I would have to say) There's no way in the world I would support giving Monckton a skerrick of respect or air-time, with that in mind. He should be (and has been very successfully) starved of oxygen. This is not an issue I treat flippantly, despite the fun that can be had with words (and his appearance, background etc. I'm being very restrained with our Lord).

Sorry Robert,
In my humble opinion, on this issue you come accross as having the qualities you are unjustly accusing Lord Monckton of having.

I recognise your irritation Tired Farmer.
I'm reminded though, of the 7th Day Adventists who visit our home every no and then. I formed my views about their 'message' long ago and while I quite enjoy having a wee chat with them whenever they do drift in, I'm not going to sit down and seriously challenge my own position every time they turn up, take each point they make and explain my counter-view and invite them to expand upon their story to their heart's content. I'm going to say, if I'm busy and don't want to be entertained by them, no thanks, carry on down the road, have a nice day.
Mr Monckton, no thanks, carry on down the road, have a nice day.

Thanks Robert--Does this mean that your mocking of Lord Monckton has ceased?

Yes. Apologies for any personal upset.

Just as I thought a concentrated campaign to stop Lord Monckton
